What You Will Be Doing

We’re looking for a Backend Engineering Intern to join our team and contribute to building scalable web applications. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers on real projects, gaining hands-on experience with Django, MySQL and microservices in a AWS production environment.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

• Design and develop RESTful APIs using Django and Django REST Framework in AWS environment
• Write and optimize MySQL queries for data retrieval and storage
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate backend services
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
• Debug and troubleshoot issues across the application stack
• Write unit tests and maintain code quality standards

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Proficiency in Python with hands-on experience building Django applications
• Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly MySQL, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization
• Familiarity with Git version control and collaborative development workflows
• Understanding of REST API design principles
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Familiarity with Django ORM and database migrations
• Familiarity to caching mechanisms like Redis
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized development environments
• Knowledge of authentication patterns (JWT, OAuth)
• Contributions to open source projects
