Who are we looking for… The ideal candidate will have broad logistics/transportation experience, in-depth understanding of logistics metrics, truck routing and distribution, and excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.  Knowledge of the health care industry is highly regarded. What you will do

  • Responsible for developing transportation strategies, optimizing routing, scheduling labor, and implementing cost-savings.
  • Cost modeling using optimization software.
  • Plan, direct, and manage operational and administrative controls for transportation and logistics to ensure established productivity and service levels are met.
  • Support sales cycle by helping identify lowest cost routing options.
  • Identify account profitability.
  • Develop, measure, and analyze key performance indicators: leasing, fuel, labor
  • Provide analysis of internal distribution and transportation issues and implement improvements.
  • Develop analysis regarding the use of transportation services and placement of facilities.
  • Provide routing support to existing and newly established customers.
  • Logistics cost modeling: leasing, fuel, labor
  • TMS management and maintenance.
  • Sales Force account maintenance.
  • Cross team/plant project management.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; Logistics prefer red or related professional experience.
  • Minimum of 1+ years experience, including development of logistics strategies and planning; Healthcare or medical waste industry is helpful.
  • Solid understanding and in-depth knowledge of logistics/transportation KPIs.
  • Proven experience with logistics information systems including reporting and analysis.
  • Advanced Excel user: VLookUp, Pivot Tables
  • Experience with Sales Force a plus.
  • Experience with optimization tools a plus.
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, possesses the ability to develop programs and create standard operating procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills along with the ability to provide clear and concise details, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks all with an attention to fine detail.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • 3PL experience preferred. Special Requirements 10-20% travel
