HR Business partner
About the role
People Business Partner
Most HRBP roles ask you to run processes someone else built. This one asks you to build them, with managers who are still learning to lead and specialists who know exactly how rare they are. If you need a mature organization around you to do your best work, this isn't it. If you get energy from building one, keep reading!
About Eye Security
Eye Security is a fast-growing international cybersecurity scale-up providing cutting-edge security solutions with embedded cyber insurance to organizations across Europe. Headquartered in the Netherlands, we're over 170 FTEs and continuing to grow internationally. We combine advanced technology with hands-on expertise to detect, respond to, and recover from cyber threats in real time.
Our team brings together talent from intelligence, military, tech, and consulting backgrounds all united by one mission: making enterprise-grade cybersecurity accessible to every business, not just the big players.
The role You'll be the People Business Partner for our core business: security operations, incident response, customer support & onboarding, and project management. It's the most varied population in the company working students running shift rosters next to deeply specialized senior engineers, and managers at very different stages of their leadership journey.
That mix is exactly why this role needs presence more than years. You'll coach first-time managers on the basics one hour and challenge C-level on a strategic call the next. You'll need to be comfortable doing both and to enjoy it. And here's what makes this role bigger than the title: alongside the partnering work, you'll get to build things most HRBPs only inherit.
Redesigning our performance cycle, rethinking benefits, shaping how development works here. You'll lead them yourself, start to finish, and see them land in the business you partner with every day.
What you'll do
- Be the trusted partner for leaders in security operations and customer support coaching, challenging, and advising at every level of maturity, up to and including the executive team
- Be visible. This is an office-first organization where face-to-face matters you'll be on the floor in The Hague, listening to what's actually going on, not partnering from a distance
- Build and lead People projects end to end think redesigning the performance cycle, refreshing benefits, or building a development approach from scratch from first idea to something that sticks, while your HRBP work keeps running
- Handle the real side of employee relations: complex cases, conduct issues, working with external counsel when needed. You've seen the ugly cases and you don't flinch
- Apply Dutch labor law hands-on in day-to-day decisions, and know when to bring in an expert
- Work as part of a small, tight People team everyone picks things up, and so will you
What we're looking for
- HRBP experience in a scaling environment
- Strong stakeholder management and the presence to challenge back including senior leadership without becoming the policy police
- A track record of hands-on project leadership: you've owned People initiatives from design to rollout yourself, not coordinated them from the sidelines
- Genuinely comfortable with ambiguity: our problems don't come with a manual, and you'd rather solve them creatively than wait for one
- Hands-on, working knowledge of Dutch labor law
- Fluent Dutch (native not required) and professional English
- Based in the Netherlands and happy with office-first: minimum 1 day per week in The Hague, ideally 3
What we offer

- Generous time off, including wellbeing days, floating holidays and a volunteering day
- Competitive base salary and company stock (ESOP)
- MacBook Pro or Dell XPS, plus iPhone or Samsung
