*This position is part of the LCAC 100 Program The Coatings Technician will perform all preparation, inspection, support and repair for all fiberglass/carbon materials in support of the U.S. Navy’s Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) program on-base. Essential Duties &

Responsibilities

  • Conduct composite repair, fiberglass/carbon fiber repair, surface preparation, coatings, paint, ceramic applications, curling, inspection support and documentation
  • Supports fiberglass, carbon fiber, coatings, paint, ceramic application, and components repair activities
  • Perform routine work with limited to no supervision or instruction
  • Ability to take on new assignments with general instructions
  • Apply industry knowledge to various programs and projects ensuring successful completion
  • Use knowledge of industry standard policies, procedures and practical applications to complete job tasks
  • Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned Education:
  • High School Degree Required
  • Knowledge in composite fabrication/repair, coatings, marine repair, aviation structures or equivalent Licenses & Certifications:
  • Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain an interim clearance required
  • AC&R training required
  • EPA Section 608, as applicable

Experience

  • Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in similar position
  • Experience and knowledge in PPE/respiratory protection
  • HAZMAT awareness training and knowledge
  • Composite repair training required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to hold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goals
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with general maintenance staff
  • Ability to work with various levels of personnel Other:
  • Ability to work onsite 5 days per week with additional hours, as required
